How age is calculated
Age isn’t just the year difference. A person born on 15 November 2000 is not 25 years old on 1 November 2025 — they’re still 24 years, 11 months, and 16 days old.
The calculator accounts for leap years, month lengths, and the exact day. So a February 29 birthday gets handled correctly.
Why exact age matters
Government forms in India often ask for age as on a specific date — UPSC eligibility, PAN card, passport applications, school admissions. The “age as of” field lets you calculate age as on any cutoff date, not just today.
Retirement: EPFO retirement age is 58. If you’re born on 20 March 1970, your exact retirement date is 20 March 2028 — not just “2028”.
